Final day in Romania. Wandered around Old Town Bucharest, found a hilarious book in the apartment, relaxed at Therme, didn’t die on the 6 floors carrying luggage up and down from the apartment, and our last time passing by the Arc de Triumphe of Bucharest (taller than the one in Paris). #loveromânia

Three castles in one day ! Last one was bran’s castle, mythological home of Dracula; who knew that it would have such a long line this close to Halloween ? 😆

Last day in Timisoara, Romania. Did a short tour of downtown and learned about the fall of communism in 1989. Had time to enjoy the sun, an art museum and then we flew to Bucharest.

Off to Romania ! I had my first experience in business class and I’ll never be able to fly again 🥰

Labor Day weekend exploring and annual boat races. Followed by discovering today that a biopsy was benign and celebrating with buying books (my nightstand will escape if I don’t weigh it down).

First day of 7th for babies , wait, no longer babies - for the giants. Wasn’t kindergarten last year? I have no idea how this happened.

My doodled take-aways from VLC with the AMTA (American massage therapy association) in Dallas with so many other amazing massage therapists.

The kids went on vacation and I tried to accomplish all of the things (somewhat successfully?)
Sewed curtains for the tent trailer, treated a rocker and the picnic table, started a small mural for the spider storage area, a flew to Dallas for a Volunteer Leadership Conference (obviously had to go to the nature and science museum).
Thank goodness the kids are permanently on vacation 😄

Cosmo Sheldrake in Chicago, Lake Michigan, and Navy Pier

We had one heck of a trip to Chicago, Indiana, and Michigan. It took 23 hours to fly to Chicago (got stopped over in Des Moines for the night), my mom’s wallet was stolen, and the hotel canceled our reservation. We thought things were on the rise with an epic dinner at Kayao, a Cosmo Sheldrake concert (look it up), the Color Experience, and Navy Pier Ferris wheel but then Amelia wound up with three stitches in her lip. Our luck was better afterward that - we went fishing and kayaked and to the BlackPink concert. It was a ton of fun, exhausting, and very memorable.

Took twins and friend to see if Baba Mona was content and she somehow convinced us all to jump in the river. Can’t refute the wisdom of our elders💦 #babamona

Ended a great day with installing Baba to her forever home by the river. The first two of her kind didn’t survive and she prefers a life in the trees in hopes that her life will be long and fulfilling.
The hint for finding her is SE of Toadtopia, W of the heart, near the best sounding part of the river, but off the beaten path. #babamona #creatures

Finished redoing the floors in the tent trailer! I am hoping to have a 70s cozy orange bohemian vibe by the end of summer 🧡🧡🧡☺️ I would like to say that it an extra box of tiles because I assumed that if it looks straight, it must be. Now I know. #tenttrailermakeover

The monsters made me pancakes for Mother’s Day, band concert, and orchestra concert - May is the month of pay offs for hard work and I’m enjoying watching the twins “becoming.”

Beginning acrylic at with Casper College Community classes - fun teacher, classmates that laughed at all the jokes, a generally good time. I should be an expert by next week, right ? 😋

Had my first of two adventures with Casper Mountain Science School with Liam. We learned about autotrophs, food webs, glaciers, and, of course, how to build (and destroy) a snow man.

It is taking me a while because I still don’t have good lungs from covid but I have done a weeks worth of workouts in two weeks (minus the running 🏃‍♀️).
This has been a reminder for myself that I need to pay attention to what my body needs and to take it easy. Luckily Beachbody has yoga and meditation too.

The Pain

The world is flat.

I am a ship and
the wind will not grace my sails
and the men are rowing
but the hull is large
and the fresh water
and the booze are dwindling
and the fish they know will bring them nourishment
and fulfillment are visible yet out of reach.

The story of the encroaching madness
is fascinating only to the reader of those sorts of macabre stories
but dull to the ship that no longer experience the journey upon the tossing sees,
taste new waters, arise victories or sink defeated in battles.

The crew will throw themselves to the sharks
and tear madly at the flattened sails.
They would rather burn,
or fight, or pluck out their own teeth
than endure the ache of one more day
of this dull encompassing pain

Let them fly overboard,
their eyes blinded with maddened glee,
the sharks herding the giggling and screaming fools.
Let them bring interest tumbling back into my life.
Let them give me something to strive for, fight for, to die for.

Do not give me one more, nor second, of this ridiculous dull ambivalent pain.

Such a great Mother’s Day with these mongrels. I think I’ll keep ‘em. 👫🏼❤️

The kids were the cheering crew, the water providers, and the finish line. They worked hard to put on such a fine race. I will plan on attending another of third events in the future.

Today, as the weather eased in, angrily sputtering or laying in languid expectation, I could feel the weight of expectations on me that it demanded.
I had to drag my incompetent feeling body through the day to, surprisingly, wind up at its finality.
Every day cannot manage to bring a storm and tomorrow is never guaranteed to go better.
Today, with all if its fits and starts, was somehow an amazing, beautiful, painful, depressing, busy, too long yet too short sort of day.

Back on the running horse which I can’t confess to being excited about. But, the weather was amazing and the red wing black birds are returning and it turned out to be perfection.

Since school and work has been out we have made slime, play dough, cake, cookies, kombucha, tepache , brownies, a 1000 piece puzzle (missing 5 pieces!), a swing, legos, beaker creatures, bubble, mud pies, and a massive amount of laundry.
Somehow, I look fifty years older and my house is struggling to figure out what clean floors look like. So I took a grumpy picture for fun. The house is still a disaster but worth the entertainment value.

Have you ever had the experience in which you know you need to stop messing with a picture but you keep doing it anyway ? That’s what happened here but it took hours to make this.
